The Tram
The 100 year old tram line has been recently re-opened and runs hourly Friday to Sunday between Sintra and Praia das Maçãs.
The journey costs only two euros (1 euro for senior citizens) and family tickets are available at two euros each journey for up to 5 people. Children under 6 go for free.
The tram runs every weekend throughout the year, from Sintra all the way to Praia das Maçãs town centre, right in front of the beach and is a short stroll to the cottages.
You will be able to admire some of the most beautiful views of the Serra and the local villages on this journey.
If you are lucky, you can spot some line maintenance work during the week.
