Cycling in and around Sintra

High up in the Serra, close to the Peninha monument, there is a series of trails for cross-country, downhill mountainbiking and northshore that are amongst the best in Europe.

Sintra's Downhill & Freeride trails

There are 4 easy to find marked freeride/downhill trails which start only 7 miles (11kms) from the cottages and criss cross down the south side of the hill. Apart from these, there are also more hidden surprises, but you won't come across them unless guided. Click on the title to find out more!

 

Cross-country trails

Cross-country riding is well catered for with lots of different trails available, ranging from a gentle ride through the woods to a lung bursting adrenaline attack on the hillside.
