Sintra's bike park

Sintra’s freeride and downhill trails are awesome, they range (in difficulty) from moderately easy to extremely difficult by anyone’s standards. Some of the freeride sections are so difficult that they aren’t the type of thing you can do every visit no matter how good you are. Most of Portugal’s top DH riders regularly train here.

The 2006 Portuguese National Champion in action

There are 4 easy to find marked freeride/downhill trails which start only 7 miles (11kms) from the cottages and criss cross down the south side of the hill, all finishing in the same destination, a car park just on the outskirts of Malveira da Serra.

The 1m drop

They are graded, the easiest being "Master of Puppets". This one includes jumps, drops and ladder sections not greater than 1 metre in height.

The "Kill Them All" trail

The hardest trail, "Kill Them All" has jumps, drops and ladder sections in excess of 3 metres.

We are not quite sure where they got their measuring tape from but these are the biggest 3 metres we have ever seen!
