Azenhas do Mar
A quaint white village perched on top of the cliffs, Azenhas do Mar is just 1 mile down the main road past Praia das Maçãs – or a nice walk on the cliff tops from the cottages.
The views are magnificent and at the bottom of the cliffs there is a small beach and a tidal collection swimming pool. However, this is not a guarded beach.
The local Colares wine grows in Azenhas, amongst the pine forest. This wine is quite unique as the vines are planted in deep trenches on the sand. The cellars can be visited in Colares.
